HERA JRP Organisational Structure

The overall responsibility for the governance of HERA JRP lies with the HERA JRP Board, whose membership is formed by one representative from each participating funding organisation. Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) and Knowledge Transfer Advisory Committee (KTAC) composed of the members of the HERA JRP Board will monitor the project selection process and knowledge transfer activities, respectively.

Proposal assessment and selection are the responsibility of the two international, independent Review Panels. The members of the Review Panels are leading scientists, appointed following suggestions from participating funding organisations. The Review Panels are also expected to monitor the overall research progress of the Programme.

Two theme-specific Research Steering Committees, which are formed by the Project Leaders of all funded HERA JRP projects, ensure communication among the HERA JRP projects and initiate networking and knowledge transfer activities in line with the HERA JRP Knowledge Transfer strategy.

The European Science Foundation (ESF) acts as the Handling Agency for HERA JRP, managing the project selection process, dealing with the financial administration and managing networking and knowledge transfer activities.
